Stillwater Consulting and Lil’wat Forestry Ventures (LFV) recently partnered to deliver two fully funded, six-week training programs on Wildfire & Community Resilience. Following the successful launch of the first group of students at the end of January 2025, the second cohort is set to begin on February 19, 2025, at Ts̓zil Learning Centre, in Mount Currie, British Columbia.
The 12 students enrolled will receive 240 hours of comprehensive training across essential field skills, providing them with hands-on experience and industry-recognized certifications to train them up to a Type 2 firefighting level.
The program is free for anyone to attend, and while no specific prerequisites are required, LFV and Stillwater are seeking applicants who are passionate about the work and eager to contribute to their community.
This opportunity offers a valuable pathway for locals to gain essential skills and knowledge for wildfire response and community resilience.
Those interested in applying for the February 19 cohort are encouraged to email levi.robson@lilwatbusiness.ca.
